Nominet chair Baroness Rennie Fritchie has apologized for “embarrassment” caused by leaked emails that suggested Nominet and UK officials tried to avoid freedom of information laws.

She wasn't even there at the time. Perhaps she might wish to reflect on what she has now said, it would be unfortunate for everyone if she was less effective than people would have hoped. This isn't a time for statements like this, given that Nominet UK isn't yet covered by FOI requirements. This is why so called 'whistleblowers' do what they do.

Speaking with an MP he is keen for Nominet to come under FOI which would be fun!

He is going to see who is best to 'write a letter' to

I wrote to the Baroness via her email address at Parliament and gave her all the information in Emily Taylor's dossier. Her statement indicates that the she as Chair does not know all the facts or is happy to accept the facts as she received them from the board. Either way, she has been emailed them now and it is up to her to justify at a later date how she dealt with them.

Nominet won't say how much the case cost, but I have a educated estimate that puts the whole case at £1.2m
