All very well saying that but why?

Probably because DO caught it on 16th June and flipped it for £5,000. I'd call that a great sale also.

I would guess this domain to be extremely valuable to a company offering CRB services or acting as an umbrella organisation for such. Although £5K has surprised me TBH, thought it would go for 2-3K max.

Congrats to seller! :)

I would expect it to be useful for a company selling CRB check services too (for as long as they're known as CRB checks of course!). There's likely to be a lot of money in something like this. Money for old rope springs to mind.

My worry about buying and trying to rank something like this is the competition you are up against in Google

Good luck shifting these

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/agencies-public-bodies/crb/
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/employment/startinganewjob/dg_195809
etc

First 5 are Government sites which makes it extremely tough to rank, great name and the name is worth it in my opinion but when you take in to account the competition I just fear for it.

http://www.crbcheck.com/ is No 3 for me. There's always likely to be competition so it depends entirely on how good one feels they when facing it. Given the type of business that it is I'd expect it'd be quite easy to automate and keep costs low. It's possibly a money for old rope business.

arh yep, I was just entering "crb". Wonder how easy it would be to rank for "crb check" as technically not an exact match. Be an interesting watch what happens with it and if they can get it ranked.

If they can, like you said they could automate the hell out of it and run it like one of those company formation companies. It certainly would be a great return on investment.

Saying that though even if it dies on it's backside it would still be worth what they paid for it.

I thought 'crb check' would have been the major term in this area but having checked the adwords tool it appears not.

It was bought by

so would appear to fit well with the childcare business he runs
