My surname is Wheal and so I am thinking about bidding for wheal.co.uk

I have very little experience with domain names so how much do people think this name is worth?

I was thinking about £200-400?

That's one of those weird names, because it's an uncommon surname so it will have little inherent value except to people like yourself for whom it means a lot more! Unless it has a secondary meaning I'm unfamiliar with?

I would put it about £400 if it's your surname. A 'wheal' is also a skin inflammation - I know this as I had a bout of urticaria once (it was an allergy to a washing powder) which was solved with antihistamines. Little to monetise there though.

Wheal is also Cornish for mine.

Often named after the mine captains wife or daughter. Some examples are Wheal Kitty, Wheal Rose, Wheal Charlotte and many more.

Would that add value to the name?

I doubt it. They are generally redundant buildings.

I would just hope there is no one else bidding at the same time :)

I nabbed Taylor.co.uk cheap as it was a weekend so the corporate who wanted it wasnt bidding!
